Lakeside Elementary — Amazing Shake: Round 1 Recap
Earlier this week, Lakeside Elementary hosted Round 1 of the Amazing Shake for grades 4–6! Students practiced professional conversational skills by “working the room”: introducing themselves to community volunteers and leaders, making connections, and carrying on thoughtful conversations. Community judges evaluated poise, communication, and engagement.
Congratulations to our Round 1 winners — they’ll advance to Round 2 next week. Huge thanks to the community volunteers and leaders who served as judges and role models.
Way to represent, Lakeside — we’re proud of every student who participated!

Lakeside Student Council helped make the PTA Family Dance Party a huge success by staffing the food table—serving hotdogs and handing out chips with friendly smiles—and running the glow booth, selling glow necklaces, rings, glasses, and glow sticks that turned the gym into a glowing dance floor. Huge thanks to our PTA parents and student leaders for their energy, teamwork, and school spirit; families had a blast! ✨🕺🌭

Lakeside students bundled up and enjoyed outdoor recess — running, playing, and laughing despite the chilly weather. Seeing them stay active, social, and joyful reminded us how important outdoor time is for learning and wellbeing.

Lakeside students spent the week practicing fun, classroom‑friendly Olympic games to celebrate the Winter Olympics. From relay challenges and balance races to target tosses inspired by curling, students showed teamwork, sportsmanship, and lots of school spirit.

Our 6th graders visited the IMAX for an out‑of‑this‑world experience all about space. Students watched breathtaking visuals, deepened their understanding of astronomy, and came away inspired by the possibilities of exploration and science.

Local experts visited Lakeside Elementary to show our students what careers look like in real life. From engineers and nurses to artists and small‑business owners, our students got hands‑on demos, asked questions, and explored future possibilities. Big thanks to our community partners for inspiring the next generation!
